Every day, I’ll pick a brand and choose one car I think represents the pinnacle of their design - not just the looks, but technology, engine, and desirability as well.
Round 2
Oh boy, this is a tough one. How do you pick one car from dozens of spectacular models they made, from the early days to the modern 8C and 4C?
Every time I think Alfa, I think of Brera. I drove the wheels off of it in NFS games, and I don’t think I need an explanation - just look at that butt.
It is a spectacular looking car, one that looks amazing even now, years after being produced for the first time. But, when I have to think about the pinnacle of Alfa Romeo design, one car always pops up on all best ever lists, and it makes me want to sell my kidney or rob a bank to afford one.
Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale , made from 1967-1969. They made so few of them, chances of me owning one are nada, zip, zilch. I have a soft spot for the later, 2x headlight per side models, but I wouldn’t kick any of them out of the bed. It cost more than a contemporary Lamborghini. Cost today is around 8 or so of my houses combined - in other words, unattainable.
There are so many other worthy choices - 1925 6C, any modern 4C or 8C, I would do dirty thing to a 1970 GTV, but Tipo 33 Stradale is the best.

I’m actually not a huge fan of the Brera’s looks. I think that ass is just too big.
That said, I have to admit that it looks like it was designed yesterday. It’s still clean and up to date no matter how much I think it’s a little off what it should be.

The 33 stradale is obvious choice, but man I love breras, they’re begging for an engine swap though, I don’t think they were very good to drive from what I heard.

Won’t argue with the Tipo 33... But the Brera looks a bit too much “rich-boys-racer” to me (great sound though!)... For me a proper good looking Alfa??
Grrrrr Bumper delete.....

That’s why I stated
“There are so many other worthy choices - 1925 6C, any modern 4C or 8C, I would do dirty things to a 1970 GTV, but Tipo 33 Stradale is the best.”
When it comes to Brera, you live where they are available, correct? For most of us on this side of the pond, Brera in untouchable and 99% have never seen one in person -including me :(

Well I’m french and live in Japan so double-yes :)
Don’t misnderstand me there though, I like the Brera. Great car and great design... It’s just that I feel the vibe it has doesn’t match Alfa’s way of seeing cars too well... A bit... “too much” maybe. Overdone. Over-designed...

I always liked the 159 q4, looked good, all wheel drive.... the Brera I loved when I moved to Italy, especially the spider! i really do have a soft spot for the old ones though early 70's or even 60's
I think that it is the typo 33 overall, but Alfa as a company, for design is the overall winner. I love Ferrari’s but alfa can make a simple low end car amazaing and a specialty car even more special.

I agree! The new 4C looks like a mini exotic for $50-60k.

Not a huge fan of any of those designs. Funny how the beauty of a car can be judged so differently.

Too bad the Brera was so heavy, but I agree it is the prettiest of the modern Alfas.
